About The Position

TheraPeds Partners is a Colorado based, therapist-owned and operated organization. We partner with our local schools to provide American Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) services to PreK–12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality ASL (SPED) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. This full-time, on-site opportunity is for an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter supporting students at a school in Centennial, CO. The ASL Interpreter will facilitate communication for students in educational settings, provide interpreting services throughout the school day, and work collaboratively with teachers, service providers, and other members of the educational team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a commitment to helping students with diverse learning needs succeed.

Requirements

  • American Sign Language Interpretation Certification
  • EIPA score (3.5+)
  • Passing written test
  • Documentation submitted to CDE
  • Fluency in ASL and English
  • Strong receptive and expressive ASL skills and the ability to interpret classroom instruction and student interactions accurately
  • Knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes
  • Background check and fingerprinting
  • Ability to support students throughout the school day
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

Nice To Haves

  • RID certification (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or ASL-English interpreting degree
  • Experience interpreting in K-12 classrooms

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication for students in educational settings
  • Provide interpreting services throughout the school day

  • Participate in evaluations, progress monitoring, educational planning, and other assigned responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality student services while collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
