About The Position

We are seeking professional and experienced American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters to support students across Palm Beach County Schools. This position requires a strong commitment to communication access in educational environments, particularly for students in K–12 settings. This onsite position is based in Palm Beach, Florida, and includes a relocation option for U.S.-based interpreters, along with a guaranteed 1-year contract. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact on students' educational journeys while working in a supportive and professional school environment.

Requirements

  • One year of experience working as an ASL Interpreter.
  • Valid certification: RID or equivalent credentials (BEI, NAD).
  • Prior experience in educational interpreting, preferably in K–12 settings.
  • Consistent weekday availability and flexibility to travel between schools within the district.
  • Strong attendance record and punctuality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Positive reputation within the local interpreting or educational community.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and maintain best practices in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and culturally appropriate ASL interpretation for students, teachers, and school staff.
  • Work with children and teenagers in a variety of classroom and school-related settings.
  • Support multiple school assignments throughout the week based on scheduling needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards in line with educational interpreting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with educators and other interpreters as part of a team-oriented environment.
  • Stay organized and prepared for each assignment, including understanding the context and vocabulary related to classroom content.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities as needed.
