About The Position

Performs a variety of complex administrative duties for patients needing routine or urgent appointments, medical procedures, tests, and related ancillary services in an ambulatory in/outpatient setting. Assesses patients’ needs, including financial counseling, interpreter services, and social services, and refers patients to the appropriate person or area. Alerts providers to emergent patient care needs.

CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital, established in 1959, was the first children’s hospital in South-Central Texas. Located downtown, the 190-plus-bed hospital serves more than 70,000 children annually from San Antonio, South Texas, and around the world. In partnership with Baylor College of Medicine, it is the only academic children’s hospital in San Antonio. Its specialized services address children’s medical needs, including Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care, Children’s Emergency Services, treatments for spinal deformities, a Heart Center, an asthma program, a Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, and maternal services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with software and computer systems.
• Knowledge of business office terminology and procedures.
• Ability to multitask and work under stressful situations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
