About The Position

The Ambulatory Pharmacy Technician primarily supports an Anticoagulation Clinic in Muskegon, Michigan, and supports patients and pharmacists across the Lakeshore. The position involves triaging calls on a multi-line phone system, processing patient referrals, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate patient medical records, and supporting pharmacist-led ambulatory pharmacy services. The technician may also assist additional ambulatory pharmacy clinics as needed to ensure continuity of care. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position on the day shift.

Requirements

Minimum high school education or equivalent.
Licensed Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan (LPhT).
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), or eligible to obtain national certification within six months of hire with prior pharmacy technician experience.
Minimum of three years of pharmacy work experience.
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited pharmacy technician training program.
Experience in multiple healthcare settings.
Previous experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

Triage patient phone calls and direct requests to the appropriate care team member.
Coordinate patient scheduling, rescheduling, and follow-up appointments.
Process and track patient referrals to support timely access to care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation in the electronic medical record.
Support pharmacist-managed anticoagulation services and other ambulatory pharmacy programs.
Perform patient outreach and assist with care coordination.
Monitor and manage assigned work queues to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Communicate effectively with pharmacists, providers, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
