About The Position

The manager will oversee the Munson Orthopedic Institute in Traverse City, directing daily operations, managing staff, coordinating providers, and optimizing scheduling and workflow to ensure patient access, efficiency, and productivity goals are met. This role also involves developing and monitoring annual budgets, overseeing financial performance, utilizing key metrics (e.g., revenue cycle, provider utilization, access benchmarks) to drive operational and revenue outcomes. The manager will maximize front-end revenue processes such as scheduling, insurance verification, authorizations, and point-of-service collections, and collaborate with billing teams to ensure accuracy and resolve improvement opportunities. Additionally, the manager will lead all HR functions including hiring, coaching, and performance management, foster communication and engagement with staff and providers, and maintain patient satisfaction scores at or above target through evidence-based practices.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive leadership experience in an ambulatory, medical office, or outpatient setting (or Bachelor's degree in a health-related field).
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of coding.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing.
  • Knowledge of scheduling.
  • Knowledge of data entry.
  • Knowledge of multi-line phone systems.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration and problem-solving within physician practices and across departments to improve quality and operations.
  • Vaccination or lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • Flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or an approved medical or religious exemption.

  • Direct daily operations of assigned physician practice/program, including staff management, provider coordination, scheduling, and workflow optimization to ensure patient access, efficiency, and productivity goals are met.
