Temporary Ambulatory GYN Nurse BWH

This is a temporary, short-term position with an expected duration of 26-28 weeks, with the hospital having the option to extend or shorten it based on clinical or other needs. Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required for newly licensed nurses.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience is required.
- Clinical GYN nursing experience over the last 2 years is required.
- Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.
- Basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
- Observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
- Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.
Nice To Haves
- Nursing experience in an ambulatory clinic/practice setting is preferred.
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Membership in professional organizations is recommended.
- Certification in a specialty area is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Providing care for patients in the Resident GYN practice on the main campus
- Telephone Triage of GYN Patients
- Communicating with and providing nursing care to GYN Patients via Patient Gateway
- Birth Control Counseling
- Nurse Visits to administer injections and/or provide patient education on GYN topics
- Working collaboratively with residents, physicians, and support staff to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment
