About The Position

This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 26-28 weeks, with the hospital having the option to extend or shorten it based on clinical or other needs. The Staff Nurse will provide care for patients in the Resident GYN practice on the main campus, handle telephone triage of GYN patients, communicate with and provide nursing care via Patient Gateway, offer birth control counseling, conduct nurse visits for injections and patient education on GYN topics, and collaborate with residents, physicians, and support staff to deliver high-quality care in a safe environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required for newly licensed nurses.
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience is required.
  • Clinical GYN nursing experience over the last 2 years is required.
  • Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.
  • Basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
  • Observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
  • Ability to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.

Nice To Haves

  • Nursing experience in an ambulatory clinic/practice setting is preferred.
  • Bilingual is preferred.
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended.
  • Certification in a specialty area is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing care for patients in the Resident GYN practice on the main campus
