About The Position

This role is for a Diabetes-focused Nurse in an Endocrinology Clinic. The nurse will be cross-trained to see both endocrinology and diabetes patients. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p, with no weekends. Travel to the Endocrinology-Worthington clinic is required. The job involves in-clinic patient care and back-office triage, including phone calls, MyChart messages, forms, medication refills/concerns, labs, and prior authorizations. Job duties may change based on departmental needs and new workflows. The employee may be required to float to other clinics and support offsite Endocrinology clinics as needed. The role emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention, assisting patients and families through their episode of care. It involves delegating, overseeing, and providing quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
  • In-clinic patient care.
  • Back-office triage (Including but not limited to phone calls, mychart messages, forms, medication refills/concerns, labs, prior authorizations).
