This role involves administrative services and operations for health care clinics or centers, adhering to federal, local, and internal standards, policies, and regulations. It typically encompasses operations, fiscal management, program planning, and external marketing. Management levels may include oversight of clinical patient care. The Practice Supervisor will oversee clinic operations and supervise administrative staff at UCSF’s Redwood Shores Specialty Care Clinic (RWS), with shared oversight over patient support staff like medical assistants and LVNs in coordination with the Administrative Nurse Manager. The role is responsible for the operational, human resource, administrative, and business functions of RWS, including practice revenue management, billing systems, facilities and safety, registration, new patient coordination, scheduling, medical records, and insurance authorizations. The incumbent must be able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks, work well with staff, patients, and providers, and demonstrate independence, initiative, assertiveness, and diplomacy in a complex environment. This is a working supervisor position, requiring the incumbent to support practice operations by performing administrative tasks such as answering phones, registration, scheduling, working on workqueues, and assisting with facilities upkeep. The Practice Supervisor is expected to maintain a calm, professional, and courteous demeanor, complying with Medical Center House and Telephone Standards and role-modeling AIDET & Living PRIDE standards.
