About The Position

The AM Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality breakfast and brunch service while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and consistency in the kitchen. This role supports the culinary team by ensuring timely food preparation, adherence to recipes and standards, and a positive guest dining experience reflective of The Heathman Hotel’s hospitality standards.

Requirements

  • Previous line cook or breakfast cook experience preferred
  • Knowledge of breakfast preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays
  • Food Handler Certification preferred or required per local regulations
  • Experience in hotel, fine dining, or upscale casual restaurant environments
  • Understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation procedures
  • Team collaboration and strong communication skills
  • Passion for hospitality and culinary excellence
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, slicers, fryers, and knives

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast and brunch menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations throughout the shift
  • Ensure food quality, freshness, and proper portioning
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams during service
  • Assist with prep work, inventory rotation, and receiving deliveries as needed
  • Monitor food waste and support cost-control efforts
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude
  • Support banquet or special event breakfast service when require
