About The Position

This Federal Work Study position in the Advancement department involves supporting the Alumni Relations team with various tasks related to alumni engagement and event planning. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in relevant software, and a customer service-oriented attitude. The assistant will help with event preparation, communications, venue research, benchmarking, and representing the department at student fairs.

Requirements

  • Federal Work Study eligibility
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Proficiency with Canva, Zoom, and Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Creative mindset with willingness to learn new tools and processes
  • Customer service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Responsibilities

  • Event preparation including assembling materials, organizing supplies, and supporting logistics
  • Mailings, emails, and acknowledgements to alumni and volunteers
  • Phone outreach to alumni volunteers, event venues, and partner organizations
  • Venue exploration and research during event planning
  • Benchmarking: tracking alumni engagement strategies at peer institutions and preparing updates
  • Representing Alumni Relations at the Involvement Fair and Commencement Fair
  • Supporting alumni events during Bobcat Weekend
  • General administrative and project support for the Alumni Relations team
