About The Position

Camp Harbor View (CHV) is dedicated to empowering historically marginalized communities in Boston by addressing systemic inequities and promoting educational and economic parity. We are committed to building a diverse staff and board that reflects the communities we serve. The Alumni Communications Coordinator will lead the Camp Harbor View (CHV) Alumni Network, fostering a strong connection between past participants of CHV and the Connors Leadership Academy, their families, and new graduates each year. This role, reporting to the Communications Manager, is a blend of relationship management and digital storytelling. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining community engagement through content creation and developing the "grateful recipient" fundraising pipeline, guiding alumni and their families to become active ambassadors and donors who support future generations of Boston youth.

Requirements

  • 1–4 years of professional experience, preferably in alumni relations, community organizing, communications, or nonprofit development.
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms with a strong ability in modern content creation (short-form video production, basic graphic design, and copywriting).
  • Superb interpersonal skills with an ability to connect authentically with diverse stakeholders, including youth, families, corporate donors, and board members.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage database tracking (Salesforce experience is a plus), event logistics, and content calendars.
  • Deep familiarity with Boston's neighborhoods and communities for culturally competent engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to implement a multi-generational alumni growth plan, re-engaging past participants and building a pipeline for current Leadership Academy graduates.
  • Build and maintain deep, trusted connections with alumni and their families, identifying individuals for mentorship, speaking engagements, and advocacy roles.
  • Conduct exit interviews and annual check-ins with recent graduates to gather program improvement insights and qualitative data for advancement.
  • Actively attend CHV events, programs, and alumni gatherings to capture high-quality, real-time photo, video, and audio content.
  • Produce compelling organic content, including social media features (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), alumni spotlights, and newsletters, in collaboration with the Communications Manager.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Programs and Communications teams to integrate alumni successes into the CHV narrative.
  • Collaborate with the individual giving team to design and execute outreach strategies targeting alumni and families for financial support.
  • Train and coach alumni to serve as ambassadors, sharing their stories with donors, board members, and the community.
  • Manage alumni presence, storytelling, and activation at major organizational events.
  • Work with the Operations team to audit historical participant data and ensure the alumni database is accurate and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
