This role involves the operation of cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts, and welding of vessels through established manufacturing processes with minimum instruction and supervision. The welder will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate techniques, work with thin wall piping, interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process, and inspect completed welds for structural soundness. The position also requires performing a variety of tasks and promoting safety and production.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Welder Training Program
  • Proficient in all positions with GTAW
  • Proficient in knowledge of blueprint reading and welding symbols
  • Proficient in welding best practices
  • Proficient in visual inspection
  • Must complete and pass welding test (2G aluminum plate test with backing GTAW)
  • Ability to adhere to Company Standards and Values
  • Ability to meet expectations for attendance and performance
  • Ability to meet deadlines for assignments
  • Ability to interact personably with co-workers and associates

Nice To Haves

  • Additional testing in the 2G, 3G, and 6G for qualifications upon being hired.
  • First week will be in the testing lab to finish qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Thin wall piping
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • Promotes and supports safety and production
