About The Position

Work pertains to the fabrication process that joins materials, usually metals, primarily using high temperature to melt the parts together and allowing them to cool causing fusion. Apply specific functional knowledge and working or general industry knowledge. May assist in the development of solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work under general supervision. May provide guidance for less experienced team members.

Requirements

2+ years of experience welding aluminum in a production environment
2+ years of experience in material preparation, including cleaning, cutting, grinding, and preparing aluminum surfaces to ensure proper fusion
Experience with safety compliance, including adherence to company safety regulations, wearing protective gear, maintaining a clean workspace, and following 5S standards
Knowledge of MIG and TIG welding machines and techniques
Ability to perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, utilizing appropriate shielding gases and filler rods to avoid contamination
Ability to inspect finished welds visually or with tools for defects such as porosity or cracks, ensuring structural integrity
Ability to read, interpret, and fabricate from technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Welding Certification

Responsibilities

Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, utilizing appropriate shielding gases and filler rods to avoid contamination.
Inspect finished welds visually or with tools for defects such as porosity or cracks, ensuring structural integrity.
Read, interpret, and fabricate from technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Adhere to company safety regulations, wear protective gear, maintain a clean workspace, and follow 5S standards.
Prepare aluminum surfaces, including cleaning, cutting, and grinding, to ensure proper fusion.
