About The Position

The Aluminum Welder position is responsible for proficiently performing welding processes, including MIG welding and mass production metal fabrication. This role also involves assisting in troubleshooting process problems, implementing Root Cause/Corrective Actions, and making process adjustments to weld processes and tooling. The welder will administer process checks on the manufacturing floor to ensure compliance and capability, verify that floor process documents are up-to-date, and train manufacturing personnel on process changes. Additionally, the role supports sample part runs and new job launches, communicates product specifications, and manages quarantined materials. The welder also reviews scrap and rework, implements corrective actions, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Prior experience in a mass production metals fabrication environment.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations.
Knowledge and ability to key critical data into CMS with accuracy and thoroughness.

Nice To Haves

TIG welding experience.
Three to Five years hands-on experience in aluminum welding.
Weld Certification.

Responsibilities

Proficiently perform welding processes, including MIG welding and mass production metal fabrication.
Assist in troubleshooting process problems and implement Root Cause/Corrective Actions.
Make process adjustments to weld processes and tooling.
Administer process checks on the manufacturing floor to verify compliance and capability.
Verify that floor process documents are at the workstation and updated to the latest revision levels and process changes.
Notify the Quality Manager of any process improvements being addressed on the floor and to deviate or alert accordingly.
Run capability studies and fill out all appropriate documentation.
Train manufacturing personnel on all process changes as per Alert Notices or Deviations, ensuring correct communication and implementation.
Assist in running sample parts and new job launches.
Make the manufacturing floor aware of product specifications.
Place material in Quarantine for review by appropriate departments.
Review scrap and rework on respective shifts and implement corrective action.
Perform other duties as assigned.
