About The Position

This role is responsible for fabricating aluminum doors, frames, and fixed frames based on provided designs. The fabricator will use various tools to assemble components, attach hardware, and ensure product quality. The position requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The role also involves maintaining a clean work area, inspecting products, and performing other duties as assigned. There are opportunities for cross-training and advancement within the organization.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure required
  • Proficiency in operating machinery.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to use power tools.
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must be able to push weights greater than 150lbs with a team.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Must have strong hand-eye coordination/Detail Oriented.
  • Must be able to follow instructions from Supervisor, Plant Manager and Ops Manager.
  • 1-2 years of glass or aluminum fabrication, carpentry, or a related manufacturing field.
  • Requires a blend of technical precision, physical stamina, and the ability to operate specialized machinery
  • Ability to read sketches, operate cutting and polishing equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and effectively use a tape measure.
  • Keen eye for detail
  • ABILITY to stand for 8--10 hours and lift/move heavy glass panels up to 75lbs independently.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (heat, cold, humidity)
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Committed to Safety work practices - Thorough understanding of safety protocols for handling sharp materials and using personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous custom door experience a plus
  • experience preferred waterjets, edging machines, and polishers to shape glass according to work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble doors, frame, and fixed frames based on provided designs stock using drills, and other tools.
  • Attaches hardware and lock preparations as appropriate.
  • Keeps work area in a neat, safe, clean, hazard free condition.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment at the end of each day.
  • Inspects products for any abnormalities and notifies supervisor immediately of any issues.
  • Must be willing to be cross-trained and move to other areas when needed.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, ability to safely perform tasks.
  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
  • Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
