About The Position

This internship is located at PIMCO’s Newport Beach, CA Headquarters or PIMCO’s New York City office. The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program that runs from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration of the program. During Week 1, you’ll participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training, providing you with the skills, knowledge, and relationships that will prepare you for success. Alongside your colleagues, participate in PIMCO's Global Month of Volunteering, developed to heighten the impact of our employees' worldwide volunteer efforts. Join us for a variety of cross-divisional education, networking & social events! Your supervisor, peer mentor, senior leaders and team offer guidance and mentorship throughout the summer. You will gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one, with training and resources that help build future ready skills and make an impact from the start. You’ll receive feedback at mid- and end-of-summer as part of a formal review process to keep you on the path to meeting your summer goals. As a PIMCO intern, you’ll receive competitive compensation, along with a transition bonus to help with relocation to one of our office locations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Must be able to begin full time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027)
  • Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university
  • Are business proficient in English
  • Enjoy working collaboratively across the organization to resolve issues
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
  • Well-refined communications skills. Can articulate ideas and strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • knowledge of loan-based products, private equity and/or real estate, legal and/or compliance, product and/or project managment related experience
  • Have demonstrated curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in your work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Support trade execution, settlement, and lifecycle events for alternatives transactions across debt, private equity, real estate, and other non-traditional assets.
  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and validation of alternative investment assets, legal entities, counterparty details, and related reference data to support accurate downstream processing.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, custodians, trustees, administrators, and other internal and external partners to resolve operational issues and support timely execution.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce risk, and enhance the scalability of PIMCO’s alternatives platform.
