About The Position

The Alternative Risk Finance Analyst combines hands-on analytical work with client-facing account management opportunities across the full alternative risk transfer toolkit: captive feasibility and formation, multiyear structured programs, collateral optimization, fronting, quota share, and parametric solutions. In this role, you will build the financial and actuarial models that underpin our recommendations and deliverables that bring those recommendations to life. You will work closely with the Alternative Risk Solutions Practice Leader and the Director of Captive Insurance and others within HUB to continue to enhance the analytic offerings. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or Risk Management
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in alternative risk, captive insurance, Property & Casualty, or insurance analytics/consulting
  • Hands-on experience with financial and actuarial modeling: captive feasibility models, loss projections, funding-strategy evaluation, and cash-flow modeling
  • Working knowledge of single-parent and group captive structures, TCOR optimization, and broader risk financing strategy
  • Claims analytics experience: loss-driver identification, trend analysis, and insights that inform underwriting and retention
  • Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in data tools such as Tableau, SQL and PowerBI; strong overall proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new systems as introduced
  • Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into client-ready insight
  • Ability to multi-task and interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues
  • Good problem-solving skills and the judgment to make decisions that move the work forward
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently under minimal daily direction
  • Conscientiousness, reliability, attention to detail, and excellent time-management skills

  • CPA, ACI (Associate in Captive Insurance), ARM, or CPCU designation or active progress toward one strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine financial and actuarial models to project losses, evaluate funding structures, and support group captive and single parent captive feasibility analyses across multiple industries
  • Apply loss forecasting and reserving techniques to inform retention, funding, and program-structure decisions
  • Leverage claims data to identify loss drivers and trends, quantify risk, and inform underwriting and retention recommendations
  • Conduct collateral optimization and TCOR analyses comparing captive, structured, and traditional program alternatives
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and data-visualization tools to translate complex analyses into clear, decision-oriented insights for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate the service team and own client service calendars to deliver superior, proactive communication to clients and brokers/producers
  • Create and present client deliverables
  • Interact with clients and prospects to guide and assist in implementing and managing alternative risk insurance programs
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with clients, prospects, and brokers/producers, and attend client meetings as needed
  • Build relationships with clients, brokers/producers, and service providers including independent auditors, actuaries, attorneys, TPAs, carriers/reinsurers, and reinsurance brokers
  • Support producers with new business proposals and RFP responses
  • Correspond and work with brokers to compile underwriting submissions
  • Assist with follow-up for outstanding information and reports
  • Review claims, or work with the claims consultant, as needed
