About The Position

The Funds Services division of UMB provides accounting, tax, audit, and administrative services for alternative investments—including private equity funds, hedge funds, and funds of funds—as well as mutual funds and collective trusts. The Alternative Investments Operations Specialist I helps initiate operations when Funds Services acquires new clients. The specialist is assigned a group of alternative investment clients and processes documents for the Alternative Investment products UMB services. Documents are reviewed to confirm they are in good order; issues are researched and resolved. The role also includes processing transactions, participating in projects and client conversions, testing systems and programs, reviewing investor documents, entering investor information into a database, reviewing other specialists’ work, and helping maintain procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
One year of transaction processing experience.

Responsibilities

Ensure all transactions are processed accurately, on time, and in their entirety.
Participate in projects and project teams, including client conversions.
Test new systems and programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Comprehensively review investor documents for accuracy and confirm documents are in good order.
Research and resolve items that are not in good order.
Enter investor information into the database with 100% accuracy.
Review the work of other specialists and provide constructive feedback.
Assist with writing and updating procedures.
