About The Position

The Alternate Field Supervisor upholds Apex Paramedics’ core values and helps ensure that team members do the same. Serving as an employee advocate and communication conduit, this position assists full-time Field Supervisors and Directors with daily company operations and keeps crews informed. The role supports organizational growth and service to all, and assists with supervising paramedics and EMTs to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and medical protocols. The Alternate Field Supervisor may fill the primary field supervisor schedule for periods ranging from a single day to multiple days.

Requirements

Proven leadership experience.
Ability to be flexible with the schedule for training and to assist with open shifts.
Effective communication skills.
Creative problem-solving skills.
Must have and maintain all certifications required by Apex Paramedics, the state of Colorado, and national standards.

Responsibilities

Uphold and promote the Apex culture throughout the organization.
Communicate effectively with the team and share pertinent information with the leadership team.
Maintain company standards.
Ensure prompt responses to calls for service.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment aligned with the Apex culture.
Fill the primary field supervisor schedule as needed, from a single day to multiple days.
Assist the Apex mechanic with taking ambulances out of service as requested.
Ensure medical supplies are stocked on all ambulances.
Perform regular and routine fleet inspections.
Address and document employee issues and recommend disciplinary actions when appropriate.
Coordinate daily activities and assist dispatch when necessary.
Attend meetings and work gatherings while on shift and, when necessary, off shift.
