IGS is currently recruiting a remote Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO). Please note this is an as-needed 1099 or C2C role. The Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO) will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of IGS's security program and procedures as required by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Department of Defense (DOD), and the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (32 CFR Part 117). The AFSO may supervise departmental activities in the absence of FSO to achieve security support and continuity of departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an Assistant FSO
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM requirements
  • Strong work ethic, intense drive, and initiative for quality and customer service
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; proficient with HRIS systems
  • Experience using SharePoint as a document library
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Detailed oriented and possesses strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to interpret and implement security policy, provide guidance, oversight, and assistance to IGS leadership, managers, and employees
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Active Secret Security clearance and the ability to maintain a security clearance
  • Strong proficiency with utilizing Security portals (NISS, DISS, ACCS, & NBIS)
  • DCSA FSO Certification(s)

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS degree is preferred
  • ITPSO Program Management Course
  • Prior successful experience working in a remote environment

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for all security matters related to government contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant security requirements.
  • Maintains and updates the company’s Standard Practices and Procedures (SPP) and Insider Threat Program (ITP) documents as required by DCSA, NISPOM or standard security best practices.
  • Conduct security briefings, debriefings, and training for employees with security clearances.
  • Manage personnel clearances, security documentation, and access to classified information through DISS and the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).
  • Support physical security measures for the facility, including badging, visitor access, and secure storage.
  • Perform self-inspections and coordinate with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) representatives for audits and inspections.
  • Manage the National Industrial Security System (NISS) to maintain facility security information, upload applicable DD254s, submit applicable Change Conditions for the company, and monitor notifications to the company profile.
  • Investigate and report security violations, follow through on incident reports, and prepare reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
  • Support Ad Hoc projects as requested.
