About The Position

The ALM Consultant plays a pivotal role in delivering strategic financial risk management solutions to clients. This seasoned professional is responsible for independently building and maintaining strong client relationships to foster trust and ensure long-term partnerships, producing, interpreting, and delivering comprehensive financial risk management reports, and guiding clients in understanding their financial risk positions and providing strategic insights on balance sheet management and overall financial strategy.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant financial experience.
  • Expertise in fixed income securities, loan valuation, cash flow modeling and prepayment analysis.
  • A solid foundation in accounting principles and economic theory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions like lookups, pivot tables, and formula creation.
  • Understanding of Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate or Azure database experience.
  • Competency in other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex financial concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • The ALM Consultant is expected to make client visits and deliver presentations as needed. The extent of travel required by the position is typically less than 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) and/or certifications such as CFA, FRM, CMA, CTP, or CPA.
  • Experience with financial modeling platforms, including but not limited to Empyrean, FIS Balance Sheet Manager, QRM, KRM, ZM, Plansmith, or Profitstars.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other programming languages.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver impactful client presentations.
