About The Position

The Allocation Forklift position supports the loading and unloading of float glass and raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products. The role uses a forklift to move glass, racks, and crates safely and efficiently, manage storage locations, and scan product, truck assignments, and storage locations in the PLEX system. The position also supports production preparation, line deliveries, staging, safety, housekeeping, and plant improvement projects. The work schedule is 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to read, understand, and comprehend safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions, and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members, engineers, leadership, and customers.
Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and solve practical problems involving varied factors.
Familiarity with manufacturing software and proficiency in the metric system; adequate reading skills.
Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including standing for long periods, turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and passing static grip-strength requirements.
Required visual abilities include near and distance clarity, depth perception, color identification, and peripheral vision.
Required safety equipment includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed work boots.
Fuyao Fork Lift License.
Associates transferring into the position must remain in it for at least six months before bidding on another job.
No active discipline above a Verbal Warning and a good attendance record are required for interested internal associates.
Interested associates must submit a signed Job Interest Form signed by the associate and supervisor to Human Resources or place it in the Job Interest Box.

Nice To Haves

One to three years of manufacturing experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Forklift driver and material handler experience.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
Safety- and goal-oriented approach; self-motivation; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of work instructions and TS16949 systems.
Knowledge of the organizational structure of Assembly.
Ability to speak English and Mandarin; these are languages commonly spoken in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Load and unload float glass, raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products.
Manage product storage locations.
Inspect the forklift for maintenance needs and report them to Maintenance for scheduled service.
Scan product, truck assignments, and storage locations in the PLEX system.
Promote health and safety in all operations.
Assist the team with continuous improvement processes.
Perform 6S and housekeeping duties.
Assist with other plant projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Prepare for production, including forklift recovery and charging.
Deliver empty racks and wood or steel crates to production lines.
Transfer packed and banded crates from production lines to the staging area.
Remove defective racks and transport them to the designated location.
Operate the forklift effectively and efficiently.
