About The Position

Hot Topic is seeking an Omni-Channel Allocation Analyst to analyze data and anticipate customer demand, identify assortment opportunities, and position inventory accurately. The role involves developing a thorough understanding of assigned categories and creating allocation strategies across channels, including initial allocations, reorders, and replenishment from backstock. The analyst works with buyers and cross-functional partners to support assortment decisions, seasonal inventory flow, test-style performance, and inventory management.

Requirements

Bachelor of Arts degree.
Thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to balance competing priorities.
Positive outlook and ability to adapt to change.

Retail allocation experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Analyze assigned categories regularly to develop a thorough understanding of their business.
Create omni-channel allocation strategies, including initial allocations, reorders, and replenishment from backstock.
Regularly analyze in-stock positions for company-defined “never-outs.”
Recommend assortments to buyers, including appropriate depth and all-store-to-layer ratios.
Develop seasonal allocation strategies to support inventory flow during peak periods.
Maintain optimal inventory placement across channels, identify potential in-season inventory gluts, and partner with cross-functional teams to reduce post-peak inventory liabilities.
Provide test-style performance and rollout recommendations to the cross-functional team.
Identify reorder opportunities and provide recommendations from a bottoms-up perspective.
Create and maintain size scales and grades that determine store assortment depth and breadth.
Perform ad hoc analysis as needed.
