About The Position

Since 1989, the campus has offered medical training programs that prepare students for careers in the medical profession. The Allied Health Externship Site Coordinator plays a vital role in this process by managing and developing relationships with medical offices, labs, and other medical facilities. These facilities serve as externship sites where students complete their final module, gaining practical experience. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining existing partnerships and fostering new ones to ensure students have opportunities to complete their programs. The College is committed to high standards for graduation and job placement rates, viewing student success as its own. Full training is provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Assist upcoming graduates with finding medical sites to complete 4-6 wk. on-site training at no fee to medical site(s)
Expand upon list of externship sites already in partnership with school
Monitor and maintain State, federal and accreditation regulations of student records with respect to time cards, evaluations and other required documents
Cultivate and visit current sites to maintain partnerships
Actively seek and establish new sites; market and research for new and potential clients
Recruit local medical facilities to build a network of externship sites for medical programs
Ensure sufficient openings are available at sites for students needing externships
Keep accurate records of medical offices and facilities
Conduct externship orientation for students prior to sending them out to site
Meet benchmark for extern to hire
Work closely with the Career Services Department
Assist with Program Advisory Boards
