About The Position

The Adjunct Instructor (AI) is responsible for clinical and laboratory supervision and the evaluation of students for the delivery of both residential and distance education courses. The AI is accountable for student outcomes and acts as a resource for students providing support, remediation, and referral as needed. The AI shall maintain professional competence in their specific discipline through such activities as practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing. The AI participates in community and institutional service activities which contribute to the mission of RHS and RCHC. Essential functions are fundamental job duties, knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary to perform the position. For all College Instructor and Staff positions, standards are intended to apply to all educational delivery methods residential, blended and/or distance as feasible. Instructor is evaluated on activities that support learning, including instructional design, delivery (both residential and distance methods), assessment, course management, and academic advising. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, Allied Health Profession or Education (Required)
  • 3-4 years Recent (within last 5 years) clinical experience or teaching in the specified field or a combination of the two prior to hire date (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) (Required) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) (Required) or License Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) and APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor status current or earned within two years. (Required) or License Physical Therapy (PT) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) and APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor status current or earned within two years (Required) or Radiologic Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in good standing (Required) or Certified Surgical Tech (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) (Required) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with current unencumbered Virginia license (Required)
