1. Administer various types of injections and know when each is necessary. i.e. “sub-Q, intra-muscular, intra-dermal, etc. 2. Allergy Related Duties (approximately 80% of time; may vary based upon volume and practice needs): 3. Mix and accurately prepare allergy antigen vials for injections. 4. Perform monthly maintenance of serums and records; pull expired paperwork, insurances, etc. 5. Test and treat patients for allergy- related problems in a caring manner. 6. Allergy Administrative responsibilities, i.e., phone call and voicemail retrieval & documentation, allergy testing scheduling, benefits and eligibility verifications, referral and prior authorization requests, and follow-up. 7. Responsible for accurately maintaining allergy supplies and inventories in a timely manner. 8. Responsible for weekly maintenance of allergy testing equipment 9. Performs other related allergy duties as required. 10. Administer shots by following the prescribed protocol, check shot record history, examine patient’s well-being, document allergy shot reaction, and dosage information appropriately in the chart, and start next patient on a timely basis without over-involving conversationally with the patient on anything more than a casual basis. 11. Ensures that all equipment in the exam room is clean and ensures proper function and set up prior to each patient encounter. 12. Ensures mixing and testing solutions are adequate. 13. Checks emergency kit and crash cart (if applicable). 14. Cleans and restocks examining rooms for the day’s use. 15. Performs other related clinical duties as required.
