About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor to join the medical department at the Bucks County Department of Corrections in Doylestown, PA. This is a Full-Time position, Monday - Friday, during normal business hours 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The candidate must be certified as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC OR CAADC) and/or Licensed Clinician (LSW/LCSW or LPC).

Requirements

• Must be certified as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC OR CAADC) and/or Licensed Clinician (LMSW/LCSW or LGPC/LCPC)
• Bachelor’s Degree / Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related Human Services degree with a concentration in mental health course work.
• Minimum one (1) year clinical experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to function independently and demonstrating clinical competency
• Ability to gain trust of patients and build a working relationship

Responsibilities

• Clinical monitoring, coordinating and implementing of the MAT in accordance with NCCHC/ACA Standards and PCM policies and procedures.
• Serve as a MAT liaison between the medical unit and facility staff.
• Engage inmates/patients in therapeutic interventions with the goal of addressing substance abuse related concerns.
• Actively assist with the detection and prevention of inmate/patient suicide.
• Assess and document treatment responses of inmates/patients.
• Facilitate group and individual sessions with inmates/patients in the MAT.
• Assist with discharge planning for inmates/patients on the MAT caseload or collaborate with inmate services staff regarding discharge planning.
• Facilitate/participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and/or case consultations with staff across disciplines.
• Serve as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee and sub-committees.
• Assist in the establishment of Quality Assurance standards and audit criteria.
• Serve as a member of various committees within the medical unit and facility as necessary.
• Develop and conduct in-service education programs according to annual in-service calendar.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Submit copy of professional license and other credentialing information to the corporate office.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned and delegated.
