Alarm Technician
About The Position
IK Systems is seeking a Technician to deliver best-in-class installation and service for critical security and life safety systems. This role involves hands-on experience with low voltage security systems and a passion for solving technical challenges. The position requires a willingness to travel nationally until further notice. Work performed in Charles County, Maryland, requires technicians to hold or be eligible for a Charles County Restricted Master Electrician License, which covers low voltage alarm and security system installation. Equivalent Restricted Master licenses from other Maryland jurisdictions may qualify for reciprocity. A current Certificate of Insurance is required to maintain active license status.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in low-voltage installation and service
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and efficiency
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to travel (<100% nationally) until further notice
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Charles County Restricted Master Electrician License (or equivalent Maryland jurisdiction license for reciprocity)

Responsibilities
- Install and service large-scale, networked low-voltage security systems, including access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and structured cabling
- Support integrated solutions such as life safety, audio-visual, building automation, and endpoint security
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure systems are delivered on time and to the highest standards
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize systems to meet customer needs
- Represent IK Systems as a trusted partner on-site, building strong customer relationships
