About The Position

At IK Systems, we're seeking a Technician to deliver best-in-class installation and service for critical security and life safety systems. This is a travel-based role requiring a willingness to travel nationally until further notice. The work involves installing and servicing large-scale, networked low-voltage security systems, including access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and structured cabling. You will also support integrated solutions such as life safety, audio-visual, building automation, and endpoint security. Collaboration with project teams, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of systems are key aspects of this role. The technician will represent IK Systems as a trusted partner on-site, building strong customer relationships.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in low-voltage installation and service
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and efficiency
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel (<100% nationally) until further notice
  • Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Charles County Restricted Master Electrician License (or equivalent from another Maryland jurisdiction for reciprocity).
  • A current Certificate of Insurance is required to maintain active license status.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure systems are delivered on time and to the highest standards
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize systems to meet customer needs
  • Represent IK Systems as a trusted partner on-site, building strong customer relationships
