About The Position

The AL Medication Technician administers medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of a licensed nurse and within the scope of practice for Medication Aides. Medication administration must follow established nursing standards, community policies, procedures, and practices, and the requirements of the state in which the employee works. This is a full-time opportunity in an assisted living facility in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, with a first-shift schedule and negotiable wages.

Requirements

Be listed in good standing on the medication aide registry in the state of employment.
Pass the QMA competency evaluation program, including a written test, if required by the state.
Be currently enrolled in a high school program or have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Possess basic computer skills and the ability to navigate software programs, including electronic health record software.

Responsibilities

Administer medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician.
Work under the direction of a licensed nurse and within the scope of practice for Medication Aides.
Follow established nursing standards, community policies, procedures, and practices, and applicable state requirements when administering medications.
