About The Position

The DAO Coordinator is part of the Airworthiness Engineering Department and is responsible for supporting the administration of the De Havilland Design Approval Organization (DAO) and rulemaking activities. This position ensures that departmental/company deliverables and tools effectively support the company's obligations under the applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the aeronautical industry and/or relevant to design certification experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of regulatory requirements and certification practices related to aircraft design approval.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams, departments, and external organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with TCCA or equivalent regulatory authority; familiarity airworthiness regulatory requirements is considered an asset.
  • Experience with a DAO or equivalent is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and execute internal DAO audits and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) Process Inspections.
  • Coordinate DAO Authorized Persons development, progression and appointment.
  • Coordinate changes to the Design Approval Procedures Manual (DAPM) and Airworthiness Operating Manual (AOM).
  • Manage DHC participation in Regulatory activity and coordinate the company’s responses.
  • Provide visibility on DAO health and performance to the Management.
  • Coordination of the DAO training.
