About The Position

Highly skilled journeyman-level work in the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of HVAC and mechanical systems, including associated equipment and controls; and related work as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Applicants must be eligible for coverage under the airport's auto liability insurance policy.
  • 1st Class Air Conditioning or Refrigeration License issued by the Board of Examiners of Operating Engineers of the City of New Orleans.
  • 1st Class Boiler's License issued by the Board of Examiners of Operating Engineers of the City of New Orleans.
  • An EPA Technician Certification Type I and II or Universal.
  • Five (5) years of full-time experience repairing and maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipment at an airport or equivalent facility such as a Port, Utility, Major Building Complex or Facility, Hospital or equivalent.
  • Must pass a personal, criminal, and employment background check required under federal regulations.
  • Must maintain all required licenses, permits, certificates, and auto liability insurance eligibility during the duration of their employment.
  • Must be 18 years of age for any class of work requiring hard physical labor, operation of or proximity to hazardous machinery, exposure to hazardous chemicals, or participation in any other processes or procedures which are prohibited or limited by the Louisiana State Child Labor Law.
  • Good moral character is required of all applicants.
