About The Position

Highly skilled advanced field and indoor work at the journeyman level in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical circuits, equipment and fixtures including runway lighting and power distribution systems; and related work as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalency Diploma.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Applicants must be eligible for coverage under the airport's auto liability insurance policy.
  • A Class "C" Maintenance Electrician license from either the New Orleans Board of Electrical Examiners or another jurisdiction or state OR Class "D" Journeyman Electrician license from either the New Orleans Board of Electrical Examiners or another jurisdiction or state.
  • Candidates must pass a personal, criminal, and employment background check required under federal regulations.
  • Must maintain all required licenses, permits, certificates, and auto liability insurance eligibility during the duration of employment.
  • Minimum age of 18 years for any class of work requiring hard physical labor, operation of or proximity to hazardous machinery, exposure to hazardous chemicals, or participation in any other processes or procedures which are prohibited or limited by the Louisiana State Child Labor Law.
  • Good moral character is required of all applicants.
