About The Position

Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Perform customer service by interacting with internal and external clients and assisting in finding resolutions for issues or concerns. Supervision Received: Direction received is focused on accomplishing objectives that are outlined in airport security policy and procedures. Work with other staff with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks. This position is responsible for issuing, activating, and deactivating access/identification badges. The agent will fingerprint applicants, enter data into the airport’s security access system database, issue access identification badges, coordinate computer-based security training for applicants, maintain application files, and process vehicle permits. Review access/identification badge applications and applicant documentation for completeness, accuracy and authenticity. Provide courteous, professional assistance to customers in person and/or by telephone answering questions, researching and responding to customer’s problems that arise in receiving airport credentialing services. Perform administrative tasks, i.e., statistical reports, data management updates, scanning documents and participate in security related projects as assigned. Familiarizes other security staff with procedures to carry out assignments. Decision Making: Follows standardized security procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks. Report all issues that cannot be resolved within scope of work to supervisor and manager. Leadership Provided: Provides occasional guidance and training as needed to other less experienced security staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • 6 months of security experience required.
  • Applicant must successfully undergo a FBI fingerprint based criminal history records check with no disqualifying crimes within the last 10 years.
  • General knowledge of the operational and security procedures of the airport and the security access control system.
  • Skills in using computers and other office equipment related to the fingerprint processing, security awareness training, and issuance of security identification media.
  • Ability to plan, organize and carry out daily assignments and work activities.
  • Ability to receive, retain and process sensitive/confidential information.
  • Excellent customer service and data entry skills.
  • Computer experience using Windows based systems required.
  • Ability to meet and maintain any applicable licensing or certification requirements. (E.g. Trusted Agent Certification)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two (2) years of directly related professional Data Entry operations and Customer Service experience in a safety or security environment required or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
  • Completion of appropriate technical course on computerized data management or a related associate degree and minimum of two (2) or more years of prior documented experience working in security for another organization.
