Airport Security Officer: F/T Morning Shifts
About The Position
As an Airport Security Officer in Honolulu, Hawaii, you will support security operations at an airport location. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and communicate professionally with travelers, staff, and visitors. The role calls for a customer-focused approach and teamwork, integrity, and care when supporting clients and the community. This is a full-time position paying $25.25 per hour. The scheduled shifts are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Applicants must have at least one year of airport experience, a valid driver’s license held for at least one year, and be at least 18 years old. Applicants must read, write, and speak English fluently and pass the required background checks, physical, and drug screening.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of airport experience.
- Valid driver's license held for at least 1 year.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
- Ability to pass a background check according to the DOT Pass and ID office.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter.
- Monitor assigned areas and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents.
- Communicate professionally with travelers, staff, and visitors.
