About The Position

Terravanta is seeking Electrical/IT inspection staff who possess a thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, and techniques of the electrical/IT trade. The ideal candidate will be able to diagnose violations and hazards in new and existing electrical/IT installations and take a proactive approach during construction. A general understanding of low voltage systems, including fire/life safety and information technology, is required. The ability to read and interpret contract documents, electrical codes, and applicable standards is essential. Electrical/IT Inspectors must be able to set priorities, make decisions, and work effectively with minimal supervision. They must also be able to deal tactfully and effectively with LAWA stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, and the public, conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Requirements

  • 3 years or more of experience performing electrical/IT inspections.
  • For tasks on the Airfield, 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.
  • Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector.
  • Proof of NFPE-70E standards. Completion of training must have been achieved within the last 3 years.
  • 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years.
  • 3 years or more experience performing electrical/IT inspections for Building Construction.
  • Ability to work well with others in large programs, is kind, well-mannered & respectful all times with colleagues, stakeholders, construction community & the non-construction personnel.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts.
