The Airport Engineer will be responsible shadowing a licensed Professional Engineer and learning all aspects of engineering design for airport projects, including CAD production, Civil 3D, pavement design, Airfield design, stormwater management, cost estimating, specification writing, and construction field observation. This role requires adherence to government regulations to ensure airport facilities comply with all applicable codes. The designer must uphold professional ethics and engineering standards. Additional duties may be assigned by the manager as needed.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, ICPR, Word and Outlook.
• Advanced math and problem-solving skills are required.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer software.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes project costs; and provides technical advice for design problems.
• Plans engineering drawings and specifications, production of engineering investigations.
• Analyzes technical problems and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
• Prepares and oversees the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and budgets.
• Is responsible for quality control, maintaining quality standards in all work produced.
