Airport Communications Specialist (Class Code 8060)
About The Position
Entry level specialized shift work in receiving requests for information and services, and monitoring the airport's automated security system; and related work as required. Candidates must pass a personal, criminal, and employment background check required under federal regulations. This position requires a one (1) year probationary period. During the probationary period applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the use of a computer keyboard, the ability to articulate clearly, work well with others, follow instructions and maintain the ability to perform all job duties under stress.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience as an emergency services dispatcher (Police, Fire, EMS, Aviation or a closely related field)
- Thirty (30) semester hours from an accredited college or university
- Proficiency in the use of a computer keyboard
- Ability to articulate clearly
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to perform all job duties under stress
- Must pass a personal, criminal, and employment background check
- Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening
- Must pass a medical examination or screening
- Must have good moral character
- Must be at least 18 years of age
