Under general supervision and administrative direction, this position is responsible for providing public safety dispatch for emergency and non-emergency events for the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) Airport Communications Center (ACC). This includes monitoring security and alarms, communicating with individuals and entities that request or require support services from Police, Fire, or Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and/or airport support services at Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN). The role involves supporting TAA's Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles, and acting as a champion for TAA's Cultural Fundamentals. The specialist will act in multiple Public Safety Communication roles, manage emergency and non-emergency contacts, answer various telephone lines including emergency calls, query callers to determine the nature and location of situations, and dispatch emergency communications in accordance with standard operating protocols. Compliance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, maintaining strict compliance with ACJIS criminal justice data and TSA-regulated Sensitive Security Information (SSI), and retrieving/relaying information to various units are key aspects of the role. The specialist will also manage and monitor TAA's Access Control System, CCTV system, and other security and fire alarm systems, operate and monitor the Emergency Notification System (ENS), and prepare operational reports. Responsiveness to airport emergencies, supporting public safety and operational response, and utilizing Incident Management System (ICS)/National Incident Management System (NIMS) protocols are also essential.
