Certerra/IG is a geotechnical and construction materials engineering consultant group started in 2018. Our mission is to leverage our technical expertise to provide valued clients with innovative, high-quality, and practical solutions in the fields of geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and environmental engineering to efficiently design and construct civil engineering projects. Certerra/IG has an immediate opening for a full time Airfield Pavement Professional based in our Charleston, SC and Pittsburgh, PA office. The position is best suited for someone interested working in a fast-paced consultant environment, capable of effectively working as part of a collaborative team. This position will require regular, travel to out-of-town project locations for extended periods of time up to 80% travel time. Pier diem and lodging is paid.

Requirements

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
  • Report writing and computer skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Driver's License (Required).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in airfield pavement construction is a plus.
  • ACI certifications (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Apply testing and inspection capabilities to a variety of projects as part of an experienced team.
  • Evaluate soils, concrete, and asphalt as they relate to site construction.
  • Report writing and computer skills are required.
  • Field and laboratory testing of construction materials.
  • Maintaining required certifications.
  • Completion of daily field/data reports.
  • Ability to lift 30-40 pounds.
  • Coordinating with clients and engineering and professional staff.
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time.
  • Ability to work 40-50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
