About The Position

Kachemak Bay Flying Service (KBFS), a subsidiary of System Studies and Simulation (S³), is seeking an Aircraft Refuel Technician to support operations in Geneva, AL. KBFS provides a range of aviation services to commercial, Government, and Partner Nation customers across multiple locations. The company holds certifications for CFR 14 FAA 141 and 145, and offers contract aviation support to various government agencies and foreign militaries. The Crestview, FL academy provides pilot and operator training, while KBFS Geneva manages Fixed Base Operations and KBFS Temple offers flight training and maintenance support.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Must be a graduate of a DOD, FAA or equivalent refueling course.
  • Must have rotary wing and fixed wing refueling experience.
  • Must have demonstrated experience refueling military helicopters including but not limited to AH-64, UH-60, TH-67, and CH-47.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 50-75 lbs.
  • Be able to work 2-10pm, or nights and weekends as required.

  • Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide aircraft/helicopter movement operations by towing aircraft from indoor storage hangars to designated ramp parking locations and positioning back into indoor storage hangars during non-flying activities or hazardous weather conditions.
  • Conduct fueling operations for fixed wing aircraft and helicopters, both military and civilian, using mobile trucks.
  • Execute tank farm operations by inspecting systems, filling mobile fuel trucks, and offloading bulk aviation fuel tanker trucks into bulk storage takes.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with FAA, State, and local governing procedures.
  • Execute duties applying principles outlined in Safety Management System policy and applicable operations checklists.
  • Assist in preparing fuel trucks and storage facilities for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
  • Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
  • Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnose and troubleshoot refueling systems.
  • Use and perform operator maintenance on tools and special tools.
  • Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft technical manuals, maintenance information and action messages as well as all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.
  • Apply a working knowledge of technical publications.
  • Make entries in refueling logs and records.
  • Other duties assigned as necessary.
