Amentum is looking for an Airfield Management Specialist in Las Vegas, NV. This role involves preparing and maintaining files, reports, and correspondence related to Airfield Management. The specialist will process flight plans, maintain flight information, and flight planning data. A key responsibility is coordinating Airfield Management functions with air traffic control agencies and associated base activities. The role requires interpreting policies and directives pertaining to flight operations, flight plans, the National Airspace System, and the Military Flight Data Telecommunications System. Daily airfield inspections, including runways, taxiways, parking ramps, barriers, lighting, and markings, are essential to determine Runway Surface Conditions (RSC). The specialist will review flight plans, inbound/outbound traffic logs, and NOTAM files for accuracy and completeness. Ensuring appropriate manuals and publications are current and available, and maintaining the master airfield management publication reference library are also part of the duties. The role involves utilizing Quick Reaction Checklists (QRC) for emergencies and normal operations, and assisting in managing the Airfield Driving program, including testing and certification. Coordination with Transient Alert on parking plans for transient aircraft is required. The position also includes operating standard office equipment like computers, copiers, and fax machines. Ordering, receiving, and distributing aeronautical charts and Flight Information Publications (FLIPs) for Airfield Management and other base agencies, and coordinating FLIP changes are necessary. The specialist will coordinate and process Prior Permission Required (PPR) requests, and prepare, coordinate, and issue Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) and local airfield advisories. Operating the Aeronautical Information System Replacement (AISR) to process flight plans and other air traffic data, and operating the Pilot-to-Dispatch (PTD) radio are also key functions. The role requires activating the crash alarm notification circuit in response to emergencies and disseminating hazardous weather conditions. Maintaining data on inbound, outbound, and local aircraft, initiating overdue aircraft actions, and maintaining the Aircrew lounge for transient aircrews are also responsibilities. Finally, disseminating Aircrew Critique sheets to appropriate agencies and performing all other position-related duties as assigned or requested are part of the role.
