Responsible for performing daily grounds and airfield maintenance. This position requires airfield and ramp driver permitting and adherence to driving procedures. The individual will become progressively more knowledgeable in assigned tasks, procedures, techniques, and required tools to maximize efficiency. Responsibilities include pavement inspections, preventative maintenance, pavement repairs, pavement markings, gate and fence repair, erosion control, grass mowing, grading, and other grounds maintenance activities necessary for compliance with 14 CFR Part 139. This role also involves maintaining proper grades at pavement shoulders, NAVAIDs, manholes, and drop inlets, as well as maintaining storm water drainage systems. Sweeping for FOD removal, maintaining perimeter fencing and signage, and performing maintenance of painted lines and markings are also key duties. The technician will perform inspections and repairs to airport concrete and asphalt pavements, cut grass, clear brush, and apply herbicides and pesticides. Ground maintenance duties extend to various properties leased by the Airport district. Additional tasks include assisting with the removal of debris, installing and repairing signs, prep work and painting of facility items, pressure cleaning structures, washing vehicles, cleaning workspaces and water features, and assisting with snow and ice removal. The role requires setting an effective pace, minimizing interruptions, and working with limited supervision. Other duties as assigned will also be performed.
