About The Position

The Aircraft Worker Supervisor provides senior-level oversight of aircraft maintenance operations in direct support of the 89th Airlift Wing’s executive airlift mission. This role involves supervising and providing technical direction to lead aircraft workers and aircraft workers responsible for the upkeep and cosmetic appearance (interior and exterior) of Executive Airlift Aircraft. The supervisor coordinates cleaning efforts, prioritizes and assigns work based on the daily and future flying schedules, and monitors the schedule to ensure adequate personnel are available for daily operations. They have the authority to adjust work schedules or mandate overtime to meet mission requirements. The supervisor conducts in-progress assessments, evaluates aircraft for compliance with contractual standards, and provides direction when substandard performance is identified. Analysis of quality assurance assessments and COR surveillance reports is conducted to determine adverse trends, followed by root cause and corrective action analysis. The effectiveness of corrective actions is verified and adjusted as necessary. Additionally, the supervisor ensures personnel practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) awareness/prevention, and safety at all times. They also ensure HAZCOM and HAZMAT pharmacy programs are followed according to applicable directives and that ground safety measures are observed during aircraft servicing and ground handling. Continuous on-the-job-training (OJT) is provided to personnel, and the status of the training program is reviewed to ensure personnel remain qualified. Flexibility to work day shift, second shift, third shift, and/or weekend shift as required is essential.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of applicable aircraft and general flightline operations.
  • A thorough working knowledge of applicable technical publications and ability to accurately interpret technical data are required.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the SAM mission.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and leadership ability are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain a flightline driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Lead Aircraft Worker experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust work schedules or mandate overtime to meet mission requirements.

  • Evaluate mission aircraft for compliance to contractual standards when technicians are complete.
  • Provide direction when substandard performance is identified.
