About The Position

The Aircraft Worker is responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work at heights, and comfort with physical tasks. Aircraft Workers will perform detailing and polishing to a high standard, operate various equipment, and assist with ground handling and towing of aircraft. Safety, good housekeeping, and FOD awareness are paramount. The role may involve working various shifts, including nights and weekends, and requires maintaining specific qualifications.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A working knowledge of mechanical tools and aircraft safety is required.
  • Must be capable of operating portable fire-fighting equipment.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend technical data.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a flightline driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal military or civilian aircraft maintenance training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft detailing and polishing to the SAM FOX standard.
  • Be meticulous and thorough in work, following proper procedures and using the right tools and products for each task.
  • Work at heights, reach, bend, and demonstrate a great sense of attention to detail.
  • Operate JLG, genies, and support equipment.
  • Assist with towing aircraft and ground handling as needed.
  • Operate ground support equipment and use hand tools, special tools, and fixtures as required.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Work day shift, second shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift as required.
  • Maintain disinfection qualifications to perform required tasks.
  • Could receive cross utilization training (CUT) in other maintenance tasks associated within classification.
