About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Technician to assemble, install, integrate, test, troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical systems and mechanical components. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced aviation environment. This position will support the Ridley Park, PA location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and/or vocational/trade school training preferred
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with aircraft wiring and systems installation and/or assemblies and subassemblies
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, climb and work in confined spaces or at heights as required
  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred
  • Experience with H47 Chinook avionics, electrical or mechanical systems
  • Experience with rotorcraft platforms
  • Previous work in aircraft assembly, maintenance, heavy maintenance or MRO environments

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and/or install partial or complete mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic, electrical systems, and components in airframes.
  • Install, connect, and troubleshoot systems in aircraft.
  • Install auto flight, communication, navigation, and interphone equipment.
  • Conduct functional inspections of all installed systems.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform adjustments and repairs.
  • Build major mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using assembly drawings, specifications, shop orders, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Validate/verify, test, maintain and repair aircraft electrical systems, wiring, avionics-related components and related equipment utilizing automatic checkout equipment as required
  • Repair or replace defective parts, wiring, connectors, hydraulic components and mechanical assemblies
  • Perform routine and scheduled service/maintenance on aircraft mechanical systems and components
  • Perform assembly operations; press and stake bearings and bushings, install and shim small gears, rig controls, and balance completed assemblies.
  • Fabricate, swage, and install tubing, hoses, and master tube templates for production use; build temporary templates to check master contours, dimensions, and assemblies.
  • Perform work in accordance with prints, specifications and other specified documents.
  • Adhere to Company standards for safety, workmanship, FOD and good housekeeping practice.
