About The Position

This position involves performing scheduled and unscheduled O-Level maintenance on specific applicable T/M/S aircraft Egress, Environmental, and related systems. The role requires performing flight line essential services as directed by the daily Flight Schedule. Routine lifting in excess of OSHA standards is required, and ordnance loading will necessitate team lifts of up to 167 pounds per team member. The technician will have the authority to direct Level I work center personnel for specific maintenance actions and will provide guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians. While receiving technical guidance from supervisors, the technician may occasionally lead teams through complex aircraft tasks. This includes performing operational checks, bench checks, troubleshooting, and isolating malfunctions in complex aircraft avionics equipment such as the AN/APY-9 Radar system, various radios (UHF/VHF), Intercommunication System (ICS), radar altimeter, IFF, and Link 16 systems. The role requires using complex test equipment and specialized tools to perform checks, and repairing or replacing components based on test results, following technical documentation. Calibration, repair, and replacement of system components are also key responsibilities. The technician must practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety. An in-depth working knowledge of CNAFINST 4790.2 and NAVINST 3710.1 series, along with applicable technical publications, is essential. The ability to prioritize workloads, maintain schedules, and perform other maintenance standards is required. The technician will also utilize the OOMA NALCOMIS system for documenting maintenance actions and must obtain all necessary certifications. Additionally, an in-depth knowledge of advanced electronic principles, circuit analysis, signal flow tracing, and understanding interrelationships of circuits, waveforms, and voltages is needed. A working knowledge of aircraft communications/navigation and instrument systems, schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, charts, soldering, harness/wiring, PC board, surface mount, crimping, standard test equipment, technical orders, and maintenance forms is also required. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen, able to obtain a flight line driver's license, and possess excellent English communication skills. Experience in maintaining specific T/M/S aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers, switches, weapons release and control checks, and conventional weapons load team operations is necessary. The ability to obtain/maintain a secret security clearance is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five years US Navy/USMC/USCG O-Level CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) aircraft maintenance support experience.
  • Minimum 3 years T/M/S aircraft maintenance experience for the T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain.
  • Aviation Ordnance candidates experience shall be minimum five years O-Level experience.
  • T/M/S aircraft maintenance experience for the T/M/S aircraft hired to maintain, with the last two years.
  • Experience as T/M/S CDI or CDQAR is required.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Experienced in maintaining their assigned specific T/M/S aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers, switches, weapons release and control checks, aircraft conventional weapons load team member, aircraft conventional weapons load team leader, aircraft communications and navigation system and aircraft instruments.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced electronic principles and circuit analysis.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft communications/navigation and instrument systems.
  • Excellent soldering and harness/wiring skills, PC board, surface mount and crimping experience.
  • Working knowledge of all standard test equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Working knowledge of technical orders and maintenance forms.

Nice To Haves

  • Shall have an in-depth working knowledge of the CNAFINST 4790.2 and NAVINST 3710.1 series and all applicable technical publications which apply to their applicable T/M/S specific aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled/unscheduled O-Level maintenance on specific applicable T/M/S aircraft Egress, Environmental and related systems.
  • Perform flight line essential services as directed to daily Flight Schedule.
  • Routine lifting in excess of OSHA standards is required.
  • Routine ordnance loading will require team lifts of ordnance items up to 167 pounds’ load share per team member, in accordance with standard USN procedures.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.
  • Occasionally lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
  • Perform operational checks, bench checks, troubleshoots, and isolates malfunctions in complex aircraft avionics equipment i.e. AN/APY-9 Radar system, various radios UHF/VHF, Intercommunication System (ICS), radar altimeter and IFF and Link 16 systems.
  • Use complex test equipment such as continuous wave and pulse generators, time domain reflectometers, multi-trace oscilloscopes, frequency counters, multi-meters and deviation meters, and specialized test equipment to perform operational checks.
  • Repair or replace components based on test results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
  • Perform calibration, repair and replacement of system components based on test results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
  • Prioritize workloads, maintain schedules, and perform other maintenance standards on assigned projects.
  • Direct, mentor, instruct and assist lower classification level employees in proper work methods and performance of their job duties.
  • Utilize the OOMA NALCOMIS system in documenting aircraft maintenance actions.
  • Obtain all certifications required to perform the job requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Trace signal flow, understand interrelationships of circuits, interpret waveforms and voltages.
  • Interpret schematic diagrams, engineering drawings and charts of assigned systems.
  • Perform maintenance on assigned specific T/M/S aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers, switches, weapons release and control checks, aircraft conventional weapons load team member, aircraft conventional weapons load team leader, aircraft communications and navigation system and aircraft instruments.
