Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted, state-issued driver’s license
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain credentials necessary for the position
  • Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, and U.S. Customs clearances as required
  • Qualified and possess recent ramp experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ramp functions
  • Good understanding of taxi and runway markings
  • Ability to complete all required training which will include: 5-hour SkyWest required training course, Two live tows with each aircraft type prior to being signed off, Successful completion of the airport course which will provide you with the needed RED badge and clearances to navigate the Salt Lake City Airport

Responsibilities

  • Supports and executes various duties that ensure a sound and safe ground operation at certain SkyWest’s locations.
  • Responsible for towing aircraft with a high-speed tow tractor on and off the gates throughout the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA) and relocating aircraft to assigned designations.
  • Operates the tow tractor and communicates with the FAA tower.
  • May be required to marshal aircraft and perform other safety related duties.
  • Responsible for clear communication with ATC Tower.
  • Physically able to bend, stoop, and crawl to insert aircraft tow pins.
  • Complete safety checklists for motorized equipment.
  • Drive and operate motorized equipment.
  • Operate computer to enter and retrieve data.
  • Complete required towing logs and documentation.
  • Operate portable radio and/or headphones, and aircraft radio.
  • Ensure compliance with SkyWest and FAA regulations and policies.
  • Willing and able to perform various spontaneous tasks that support safe and efficient ground operations.

  • Starting at $17 per hour, plus a $2 override
