Aircraft Structural Dynamics

Sapsol Technologies Inc

About The Position

This role focuses on Aircraft Structural Dynamics, specifically involving aeroelasticity and aeroservoelasticity analyses for new aircraft designs and the continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft. The engineer will utilize engineering judgment to select appropriate methods and tools for complex issue resolution, prepare and maintain finite element models, and develop/document in-house software and methods. Collaboration with other engineering disciplines such as Advanced Design, Aerodynamics, Structures, Mass Properties, Flight Controls, and Control Laws is essential. The position also involves supporting ground vibration testing (GVT) and flight flutter testing (FFT), including post-processing of results, and documenting analyses in engineering certification reports and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace specialization
  • Relevant experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience in aeroelasticity and aeroservoelasticity analyses
  • Good understanding of aircraft structures, aerodynamics, control surface actuations and control laws
  • Experience with finite element models and analysis
  • Experience with dynamic system stability and frequency response calculations
  • Experience programming in Matlab, Python, Fortran, or C/C++
  • Eligible to acquire Canadian Controlled Goods (CGD) clearance
  • Some knowledge of Airworthiness regulations
  • Good organizational skills in planning work activities and completing tasks within budget and on schedule, and can work under pressure
  • Good analytical thinking, problem solving, communication skills both written and spoken, in French and English

Nice To Haves
